Initial Acupuncture Treatment:

The first appointment involves a comprehensive consultation to discuss your condition with the aim of establishing a treatment plan to support goals using the holistic principles of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). 

 

Treatments offered/choosen may include Acupuncture, dry needling, electro-acupuncture (estim), cupping, moxa &/or massage.  All techniques are explained before use and tailored to your comfort.  Part of treatment also includes suggested referral (as needed), lifestyle advice, and ideas to support recovery.

Follow-up Acupuncture Treatment:

Continuing care, maintenance and prevention using techniques of Chinese Medicine. After meeting Nicci a standard follow-up appointment is 45 mins. These can be booked any time online or with reception to suit your treatment plan.

Follow-up Acupuncture Treatment

Need to have seen Nicci previously to ensure your treatment plan can fit within the shorter time frame. One area of concern addressed per session.  (not available for online booking please contact reception)

*ACC Acupuncture Treatment For Specific Injury Claims:

ACC can help you access subsidized treatment after an accident.  Simply bring your ACC injury claim number and make sure you meet conditions below before booking your appointment.

*ACC Conditions For Acupuncture:       

​​

  • ACC offers subsidized treatment on specific injuries that have been caused by accident.

  • To qualify for ACC Acupuncture treatment you must have an accepted claim with a date of injury that is within the last 12 months. See your Dr or other allied health provider if you want to complete a new claim.​

  • Once Acupuncture treatment has started, ACC subsidized treatment is only available for a maximum of 3 months or 12 treatments per claim. This is different from other providers​

  • If your claim does not meet the criteria above for Acupuncture, or for any reason your claim is rejected by ACC standard rates will apply.

"Acupuncture" treatments may include:

Acupuncture: 

Mild stimulation of meridian and/or muscular points using super fine, sterile, single use needles.

Traditional Chinese Medicine Acupuncturists are trained in all types of acupuncture including Dry needling (muscles & soft tissue), medical acupuncture for general health concerns in combination with both western and Chinese medicine models of health.

​

Cupping: 

Traditional Chinese suction cups aimed to stimulate blood flow and ease muscle tension.  Can look scary but is actually painless. Often used post sports to aid muscle recovery, improve flexibility and conditioning.

​

Electro Acupuncture: 

Mild current attached to the end of needles. Different frequencies are choosen with the aim of stimulating healing responses such as promoting blood flow, pain relief, calming the nervous system and/or clearing inflammation.

Acu-pressure and Tuina: 

Chinese Massage and/or holding of  acu-points used for relief of muscular aches and pains.

​

Moxibustion: 

Herbal heat treatment used to gently warm the body and stimulate blood flow for  healing.

Magnets, Ear Seeds, Gua-sha, Tuning Forks and more: 

There are many traditional treatments available to an acupuncturist.   These are  always demonstrated and  explained before use.
