Understanding Supervision

Creating a regular space for a reflective practice is an important investment for not only professional growth, but also for balancing the bigger picture of personal health & well-being.

To me "Supervision" is all about support.  With time, honesty and respect this type of professional relationship can grow to be an important part of maintaining your professional self for long term sustainability, connection & enjoyment of your chosen profession.

To do this I bring a diverse background of education and healthcare to my practice with experience in allied healthcare, workplace well-being and mental health.

Sessions can include debriefing, clinical support, practice management/business mentoring, professional relationships, accountability, goal setting, processing of challenges to support letting go of stress and helping to maintain motivation within your practice and/or workplace.

As a supervisor my role is to mainly listen, be neutral and non bias so you can reach your own conclusions.  However I will also sometimes challenge you to support reflection on assumptions held and see situations from all angles..

No matter if it is workplace subsidized, for disciplinary purpose or an investment for personal growth your supervision is a confidential environment offering a safe place to debrief, and share genuinely the trials and tribulations of a professional life.

I offer a strengths based model of practice with FACT (Focused, Acceptance & commitment therapy) approach to support self reflection.  With reflective discussions on ethics, values and  best practice considerations required of the industry.
